Cougars News · Girls Soccer Beats Whiteland Community on Senior Day – Six Game Win Streak Before State Tournament


The Lady Cougars beat the Whiteland Lady Warriors 4-2 on Saturday for Senior day, ending the pre-tournament season on a six game win streak.

First half, freshman, Adeline Jolley puts the ball in the back of the net to put the Cougars in the lead early in the match. However, the Warriors quickly respond and tie the game. However, the Cougars return with two more goals, both scored by senior captain, Cameron Northern, widening the gap for the lead going into halftime.

Second half, the Cougars are still on the attack and sophomore, Karis Goins, scores a goal off a corner kick, her first goal of her career and the season. The Warriors push the get back into the game back scoring another goal in the second half, but the Cougar defense are able hold them off, putting the Cougars on top 4-2. The Cougars are now 11-4-1 going into tournament play, the program’s best record.

The team would like to thank their senior captains for their leadership and dedication to this team: Cassie Bigelow, Andrea Cottongim, Alexis Mead, and Cameron Northern. Their hard work and love for the game and this team do not go unnoticed.

The Cougars begin their tournament journey on Tuesday, October 8th at 7:00pm playing Heritage Christian for the first round of Sectionals at Triton Central.
